As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.
Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. A competence centre on aeronautics, flight physics and research activities are located near Munich in Germany.
Your responsibilities
►Complex helicopter flight mechanics simulations for the evaluation of performance, mission and handling quality behavior of the different helicopter architecture
►Developing a flight physics model in terms of flight mechanics and performance
►Validating simulation methods incorporating both experimental and numerical methods
►Simulating a hybrid configuration in the domain of flight mechanics and performance
►Coordinating the development of electrical aircraft in the domain of flight physics
►Coordinating different flight mechanics and performance projects
►Involvement in research projects
►Supporting flight tests
Your qualifications & experience
►University Degree or equivalent in aerospace engineering
►5 years experience in the field of flight mechanics (helicopter) and its algorithms
►Deep knowledge in scripting and programming (MATLAB, Python)
►Willingness to take operational responsibility in multi-discipline teams
►Familiarity with EASA (CS-27/ CS-29) and/or FAA certification process and requirements
►Fluency in English, both orally and in writing
►Quick learner with strong analytical and problem solving skills
►Ability to work as part of a multinational team
